Description of Epson Cyan T55K2 - 700 ml cartridge

  • This Cyan T55K2 ink cartridge uses Epson UltraChrome HD/HDX ink technology.
Epson UltraChrome HD/HDX delivers the same color gamut as the Epson 7900 and 9900, but in this new HD/HDX, you get the highest density on the market.
This provides much more depth to your images in both color and black and white.

    Content: 700 ml
    Type: Epson UltraChrome HD/HDX
    Color: Cyan
  • IMPORTANT:

The new generations of Epson cartridges (T54X.. and T55K..) for the SureColor P6000, P7000, P8000 and P9000 printers.

They have gradually replaced the current/previous cartridges (T804.. and T824..), since June 2023.

These are still original Epson cartridges containing Ultrachrome HDX/HD inks whose reputation for quality is second to none.

The big difference is that the new generation of cartridges does not have an ILS (Ink level Sensor) chip, which means that it will not be able to measure the exact number of ml that you have used and what is left in the cartridge. Instead, it will make an approximate estimate of how much ink is left in the cartridge, based on your most recent print history.

Epson expects that you will sometimes experience that there is a residue of approximately 8-15% in the cartridge after it is reported empty. This is the reason they have lowered the prices of this new generation of cartridges.

To use these new cartridges, or a mix of cartridges with and without ILS, it is necessary to update the printer's firmware. It is therefore important to keep the firmware version available on Epson's website up to date. Please refer to the documentation included in the box for each next generation cartridge.
