At the end of each cartridge, there is a blob of grease that keeps it sealed and ensures that the ink does not dry out, even if the pen is left unused for a long time. The blue and black ink is certified Swedish Archive, which means that pens with these inks and medium tips are allowed to be used within municipalities and county councils because the ink is very light-resistant. Each cartridge writes a whole 8000 meters and fits all Ballograph pens except Ballograf Pocket.
